Miserable Son of a Gun
As you might recall, my friends Garth and Claire are currently live-blogging the remodeling of their newly purchased Victorian home at the Readymade blog Keeping Up With the Johnsons. Recent renovation-induced bouts of swearing reminded Garth of an audio recording that Henry had sent him of a dad being taped while working on a home-improvement project.
This recording, which has been nicknamed “Daddy’s Curses”, has passed from underground tape collector to underground tape collector until it found a home on the internet. It was supposedly made by a young child who surreptitiously recorded his father, Bruce, while he was working on restoring an antique piano.
What’s interesting about this isn’t that he swears at what he’s working on (I know I do), it’s how long he swears at it. I love the stream of cuss words too blue to be repeated followed by an emphatic “fooey.”
You’ll probably want the headphones for this. It’s so not safe for work.
